The Double Bay Chamber of Commerce was founded to help the growth of Double Bay with a commitment to helping the local business community.

The Double Bay precinct consists of a mix of residential, retail and commercial properties employing over 2000 people (Eastern Suburbs Economic Profile Report). The DBCC is proud to provide the cohesive platform for local businesses to work alongside Woollahra Council.
Long-term resident and local business owner, Greg Solomon was elected as the new Chairman in 2013. He has gathered a team with expertise in Operations, Marketing & Events, who help implement and deliver the Chamber’s vision for the future.
Following on from participation in the Future Cities Programme Double Bay now has a Place Plan – a single plan for our future, endorsed by the Chamber and Woollahra Council to grow Double Bay.

Katherine O’Regan – Chair and Councillor
Katherine is a seasoned business leader with experience in finance, property and government in Australia and the United States. Her strategic execution skills have been applied to building brands, repositioning organisations, and managing change in the banking and finance, trade, property, and resource sectors. She has served Ministers at the Federal and State level and competed in sport at the elite level. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of US Studies and is a Director of the public policy think tank, The Sydney Institute. Michael Schiffer – Deputy Chairman
Michael is the Owner/Operator of 21 Espresso Cafe on Knox St, Double Bay. His Grandfather first established the cafe in 1958 and it was one of the first essblishments in Australia to sell coffee made from an espresso machine with beans imported from Italy. Michael grew up in Double Bay and in 2010, together with his father, bought back 21 Espresso, which was sold shortly after his grandfather passed away in 1992.
The 21 has long been a central figure in the Double Bay community and has gained fast popularity over the years. Michael is committed to re-establishing the area as a sophisticated meeting spot where visitors, and locals alike, have a sense of belonging. Email Michael: firstname.lastname@example.org
Greg Kelly – Director
Greg has had over 40 years business experience in a variety of enterprises. After obtaining his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Juris Doctor Degrees, he commenced his career as a Melbourne solicitor. He then discovered a new venture in which he could persue his passions for surfing and sailing. Greg was the co founder of the sport of windsurfing in Australia.

James Keulemans – Director and Councillor
James is a Councillor representing the Double Bay Ward on Woollahra Municipal Council. His experience cuts across a range of disciplines from government relations, strategic communications to crisis and issues management and consumer public relations. James has been a regular panellist on ABC TV News 24’s The Drum and provided commentary on Radio National and other national media. This experience enables James to have a unique insight and capacity to develop campaigns that leverage all communication disciplines that are needed in contemporary corporate Australia to effect change. Peter Tate – Director
Peter is the Licensee/General Manager of the Royal Oak Hotel on Bay St, Double Bay. Peter joined the Malouf family at the Royal Oak Hotel shortly after their purchase in late 2011. The family owned hotel is an integral part of the Double Bay tapestry, celebrating over 150 years in the same location. Peter grew up in the Eastern Suburbs and after an electronic engineering stint with Qantas moved into hospitality boasting greater than 25 years experience.

Magdalena Lapcevic – Director
Magdalena Lapcevic is the owner proprietor of Magdalena Photography. After 14 years experience in the commercial banking and finance industry where she worked for various banks in a Lending & Business Development capacity, Magdalena turned her passion for photography into a successful boutique business. Magdalena Photography specialises in lifestyle, corporate and branding photography. With her background in business and her current standing as a successful Double Bay business owner, Magdalena has many skills to contribute to the Double Bay Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to being involved in the revival of the Double Bay business community.
